SecondsOut Radio: Evander Holyfield
On this week's edition of SecondsOut Radio, host Eddie Goldman discusses Saturday's fight between WBO heavyweight champ Sultan Ibragimov (22-0-1, 17 KOs) and former heavyweight champion, 44-year-old Evander Holyfield (41-9-2, 27 KOs), held at the Khodynka Arena in Moscow, Russia. Ibragimov retained his title with a lopsided 12-round decision, winning by scores of 118-110 and 117-111 twice.
We open with the unedited and complete audio from Evander Holyfield's postfight media teleconference call held with American boxing journalists shortly after the fight. Included on this call are some comments by promoter Kathy Duva. Right after that, we offer our own opinion on what happened Saturday night, and whether or not Evander Holyfield should retire as a professional fighter.
