SecondsOut Radio: Miguel Diaz, Joshua Clottey, Jerry Glick on Cotto, Pavlik, and Saturday's Garden Party
On this week's edition of SecondsOut Radio, host Eddie Goldman reviews the fights held this past Saturday night, February 21, at Madison Square Garden in New York and the Chevrolet Centre in Youngstown, Ohio.
We spoke with veteran trainer and cutman Miguel Diaz about the fifth-round TKO victory of his fighter, Miguel Cotto, over Michael Jennings, and what that signified for Cotto's career. We spoke with IBF welterweight champion Joshua Clottey, who would like next to fight a unification match with Cotto, who is now the WBO champion. And we reviewed the main fights on this card with our colleague Jerry Glick of SecondsOut.com, including Kelly Pavlik's TKO win over Marco Antonio Rubio at the end of round nine, the ten-round decision victory by John Duddy over Matt Vanda, the fourth-round TKO victory by Matt Korobov over Cory Jones, and the tenth-round TKO victory by Kina Malpartida over Maureen Shea.
