SecondsOut Radio: Vazquez-Marquez 3 Review, Oscar De La Hoya, Steve Forbes
On this week's edition of SecondsOut Radio, host Eddie Goldman begins by reviewing the third, classic battle between WBC super bantamweight champion Israel Vazquez (43-4, 31 KOs) and former world champion Rafael Marquez (37-5, 33 KOs), which took place Saturday, March 1, at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. After splitting the first two fights, Vazquez won the rubber match by split decision in an early Fight of the Year frontrunner.
Next, we preview another fight which will also take place at the Home Depot Center. On May 3, Oscar De La Hoya (38-5, 30 KOs), in what he says will be the first of the final three fights in his career, will take on Steve Forbes (33-5, 9 KOs) at a catch-weight of 150 pounds.
Both De La Hoya and Forbes were on a national media tour last week, and we caught up with them when they were in New York.
