Peter-McCline A Go, Eddie Goldman on "Joey Reynolds Show"
Despite some last-minute drama, Saturday's fight between WBC interim heavyweight champ Samuel Peter and challenger Jameel McCline will take place as scheduled at Madison Square Garden. It will be shown live in the US on Showtime.
The Friday edition of the New York Daily News ran a story quoting an unnamed source alleging that McCline "received more than $12,000 worth of steroids, human growth hormone and related drugs over a 21-month period" from March 2005 to December 2006.
McCline, however, has not been indicted, arrested, tried, or convicted for any of these charges. Plus, like Sam Peter, he will have to undergo both prefight and postfight doping tests by the New York State Athletic Commission.
Thus, the fight is still on.
