NO HOLDS BARRED: Renzo Gracie on Naturalism, Kurt Otto on IFL Plans
On this edition of NO HOLDS BARRED, host Eddie Goldman begins by discussing the relevance of recent events regarding doping in the sports world for the combat sports. Also raised is the need for a summit to address the rampant dope-cheating in the drug-soaked sport of mixed martial arts.
We next speak with mixed martial arts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu legend Renzo Gracie. We discuss his family's philosophy of naturalism and how that stands in opposition to the current prevailing drug culture.
We also speak with Kurt Otto, the co-founder and commissioner of the International Fight League (IFL). We discuss the IFL's plans for a Grand Prix tournament to crown individual champions in five weight classes, and other issues. We also discuss his announcement that the IFL will begin taking its own anti-doping measures next season.
