No Holds Barred: On the Rise and Decline and Rise of Grappling
On this edition of No Holds Barred, host Eddie Goldman discusses the recent rise and decline and rise of grappling.
While there has been a de-emphasis on grappling and submissions in MMA, particularly in North America, the number of events and people training in the numerous styles of grappling around the world has continued to grow. That phenomenon is discussed, for both gi and no-gi grappling, catch wrestling, submission-only grappling, and many more styles. Also discussed are more factors which give grappling an advantage over other combat sports, especially that it has no striking, and thus much less head trauma and brain injury.
