No Holds Barred: Adisa Banjoko of Hip-Hop Chess Federation on Jiu-Jitsu, Chess, and Music
On this edition of No Holds Barred, host Eddie Goldman speaks with an old friend and colleague, Adisa Banjoko, a jiu-jitsu practitioner and the founder of the Hip-Hop Chess Federation.
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Hip-Hop Chess Federation is a not-for-profit organization which fuses music, chess, and martial arts, hosts celebrity chess benefits where underserved youth play chess for educational scholarships, and promotes positive values by blending logic and art.
"Chess is jiu-jitsu for the mind, and jiu-jitsu is chess for the body," stated Adisa.
We spoke with Adisa Banjoko by phone Friday afternoon about the work and goals of this very innovative and valuable organization.
