On this edition of No Holds Barred, host Eddie Goldman speaks with Shannon Knapp, co-founder of the Invicta Fighting Championships.

This latest venture for Shannon Knapp, who has worked for numerous mixed martial arts promotions, will put on all-women's MMA cards.

The debut show for the the Invicta Fighting Championships will be Saturday, April 28, at the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas. The 11-fight card will be headlined by a rematch between international MMA star Marloes Coenen of the Netherlands and Romy Ruyssen of France, whose only MMA loss was to Coenen in 2008.

We spoke with Shannon Knapp by phone Thursday afternoon about this ambitious new organization. She explained why an all-women's MMA show can work, and that often women's fights are as or even more exciting than men's fights. While she admitted that developing this organization will not be easy, she is so confident in this product that she promised to make the first show available for everyone around the world to see for free, with those details to be announced shortly. She also said that this company wants to work with other promotions, that they plan four shows for 2012, and much more.
