No Holds Barred: Siyar Bahadurzada

On this edition of No Holds Barred, host Eddie Goldman speaks with one of the most exciting, young mixed martial artists today, Golden Glory fighter Siyar Bahadurzada.

Also known as "Siyar the Great", he has a four-fight winning streak and is coming off a first-round knockout victory over Derrick Noble on October 16 at the Ultimate Glory 12 event in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. This fight was in the first round of their welterweight tournament, and he will next face veteran John Alessio on January 30 in Charleroi, Belgium, in the next round of this tournament. He also has signed a contract to fight in Strikeforce in the U.S., and expects to debut in that organization sometime in 2011.

We spoke with the 26-year-old Siyar Bahadurzada, who is based in the Netherlands, about his latest victory and his fighting career. He explained why he decided to sign with Strikeforce, while continuing to fight in Europe. He discussed why he does not closely follow events in Afghanistan, where he was born. We discussed the development of his fighting style, how he tries to put on exciting fights, how the mayor of Amsterdam is trying to ban mixed martial arts and kickboxing, and much more.
