No Holds Barred: Ben Askren - Wrestler, Grappler, Fighter
On this edition of No Holds Barred, host Eddie Goldman speaks with Olympic freestyle wrestler, grappler, and mixed martial arts fighter Ben Askren.
Ben has recently signed to fight for the Bellator Fighting Championships in their upcoming welterweight (170 pounds) tournament, which will begin in April.
We spoke with Ben about competing in mixed martial arts, wrestling, and grappling at the same time. We learned of his plans to continue to do so, and his love of all three sports. He elaborated upon his short and long-term goals in these sports, and discussed numerous other topics, including the issue of injuries to fighters in mixed martial arts, how he has transitioned from wrestling to mixed martial arts, and much more.
