No Holds Barred: Ricardo Lois Previews De La Hoya-Pacquiao
On this edition of No Holds Barred, host Eddie Goldman speaks with Ricardo Lois, co-host of Boxing Confidential Radio. The main subject is the controversial fight between Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao, which will take place Saturday, December 6, in Las Vegas, and will be shown in the U.S. on HBO Pay-Per-View. Pacquiao, who has fought at featherweight and super featherweight in recent years, and just moved up to lightweight in June, will be fighting the much larger De La Hoya at welterweight.
In a lengthy interview, we discuss our criticisms of the De La Hoya-Pacquiao fight, why it is not good for boxing, how it is related to the decline of boxing in the U.S., the ethics of watching pay-per-views such as this one online on sites which do not hold their copyrights, and more.
