Dainty Inferno and Dinah Party of Gotham Girls Roller Derby and Eddie Goldman on Joey Reynolds Show Oct. 20/21
It's time to discuss roller derby, the fastest-growing sport in America, on the nationally-syndicated "Joey Reynolds Show".
Scheduled to be guests this Monday night/Tuesday morning, October 20/21, are skaters Dainty Inferno and Dinah Party of the Gotham Girls Roller Derby, and Eddie Goldman of No Holds Barred, who is also the boxing correspondent for the "Joey Reynolds Show".
Dainty Inferno skates for the defending Gotham Girls Roller Derby champions, the Bronx Gridlock, while Dinah Party skates for the Queens of Pain. Their two teams will meet for the 2008 season championship this Saturday, October 25, at the Hunter College Sportsplex on Lexington Avenue and 68th Street in Manhattan.
The Gotham Girls Roller Derby team just finished first at the Eastern Regional Tournament of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), held October 10-12, in Madison, Wisconsin. They now will compete at the 2008 WFTDA Championship Tournament for the national title, November 14-16, in Portland, Oregon.
If you are not familiar with this exciting and edgy contact sport, then listen in to find out the basics. If you are familiar with roller derby, then listen in to learn more about the skaters and the upcoming championship games.
The "Joey Reynolds Show" is a national radio broadcast in New York on WOR 710 AM and on 100 other stations via the WOR Network. The show airs live beginning at midnight EDT and runs to 5 AM EDT. We are presently scheduled to come on towards the end of the show.
