No Holds Barred: John Perretti and His New Sport
On this edition of No Holds Barred, host Eddie Goldman speaks with the legendary mixed martial arts promoter, matchmaker, and commentator, John Perretti.
For the past several years, John Perretti has been involved in attempting to launch a new, professional combat sport. It will be based on the ancient sport known as calcio storico (historic football) or calcio fiorentino (Florentine football). This sport is a sort of combination of boxing, wrestling, martial arts, and football (soccer). It has existed in various forms for centuries in Florence, Italy, and now John Perretti wants to introduce it to the world.
In a lengthy interview, we discuss this new sport, as well the mixed martial arts and other issues.
