NO HOLDS BARRED: Shane Mosley, Luis Collazo, Mo Lawal

  • NO HOLDS BARRED on PodOmatic

  • On this edition of NO HOLDS BARRED, the second this week, host Eddie Goldman focuses on the worlds of boxing and wrestling.

This Saturday, February 10, one of boxing's top stars, Shane Mosley (43-4, 1 NC, 37 KOs), will have a tough test when he fights Luis Collazo (27-2, 13 KOs) in a 12-round welterweight bout in Las Vegas. Collazo is the underrated southpaw who gave 2005 Fighter of the Year Ricky Hatton all he could handle last year. This fight between Mosley and Collazo will be shown live in the U.S. on HBO.

We got prefight comments from both Shane Mosley and Luis Collazo on a media teleconference call Tuesday, Feb. 6.

Freestyle wrestler Mo Lawal (Colorado Springs, Colo./Gator WC, 96 kg/211.5 lbs.) was the lone American to win his match Tuesday night, Feb. 6, in a dual meet between U.S. and Russian freestyle teams at the Chicago Cup held at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. He also was the only American to win a gold medal at the prestigious Takhti Cup of freestyle wrestling held on January 18 in Bandar Abbas, Iran. And he is emerging as one of the most colorful, controversial, and popular wrestlers active today in America.

We spoke with Mo Lawal by phone shortly after his victory at the Chicago Cup about these international wins, his plans, and his views on a variety of topics, including what he will watch on TV this coming Saturday night: the Mosley-Collazo fight, the Elite XC mixed martial arts card on Showtime, or both.
