NO HOLDS BARRED: IFL's Gareb Shamus, NHB Mailbag, and More
On this edition of NO HOLDS BARRED, the second this week, host Eddie Goldman begins by discussing the ongoing 2006 World Championships of Wrestling and answering mail about boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, and mixed martial arts.
Next up is commentary on Thursday's panel discussion in New York hosted by the National Sports Marketing Network entitled "Mixed Martial Arts: Fighting its Way into the Mainstream." Representing the MMA promotions were Michael Sakin, Vice President, Sales & Sponsorship of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and Gareb Shamus, co-founder and CEO, International Fight League. In particular, Sakin's presentation, par for the course for the revisionist history being presented by the present owners and suits who run the UFC, is discussed, dissected, and decimated.
Following this panel discussion, we had a chance to speak with Gareb Shamus, and we have that interview for you right here on NO HOLDS BARRED.
The 2006 World Championships of Wrestling are taking place Sept. 26 through Oct. 1, 2006, in Guangzhou, China. The web page of USA Wrestling, TheMat.com, has set up a special section to cover the World Championships, which is here. The official event web site for the World Championships is here.
