NO HOLDS BARRED: Eugene Robinson Interviews Eddie Goldman, Parts 1 and 2
On this week's edition of NO HOLDS BARRED, we turn the tables a little bit.
When host Eddie Goldman was contacted by Eugene Robinson to be the subject of an interview for his forthcoming book on the combat sports, it was agreed that this interview would be recorded and also used on NO HOLDS BARRED. Eugene is an old colleague from the combat sports media who has also been spreading the word in some mainstream media outlets. Besides that, he has trained in the combat sports, is lead vocalist with the band Oxbow, and was on MySpace even before Eddie.
This week we bring you, in two parts, this interview.
Eugene begins by asking Eddie how he became the combat sports journalist that he now is. The discussion then delves into his background, his love of wrestling, the history of combat sports in particular and sports in general, an assessment of the current state of various combat sports, culture, politics, and, of course, philosophy. This is a special show where some very critical questions are addressed in depth, and, as usual, the analysis is NO HOLDS BARRED.
