“Memo to All Boxers: Get on MySpace!” on TheSweetScience.com
For me, life is too precious, short, and fun to be lived anywhere other than on the cutting edge, and as often as I can. I’ve pursued that goal once again in my latest column on TheSweetScience.com.
It is called “Memo to All Boxers: Get on MySpace!” and challenges the technophobic, backwards, and anti-Internet culture in boxing. It also appeals to the boxers themselves to take matters into their own hands and, as the title suggests, get on MySpace.com to spread the word about their activities.
Plus, we also confirmed at a New York press conference Thursday that undefeated junior middleweight contender Sechew Powell indeed is maintaining his own MySpace account. You can see it at http://www.myspace.com/ironhorse154. He will next be fighting Aug. 5 at Madison Square Garden against former 154-pound champ Kassim Ouma.
