SecondsOut Radio: Jermain Taylor, Winky Wright, Miguel Cotto, John Duddy, and Tommy Zbikowski

On this week’s edition of SecondsOut Radio, host Eddie Goldman reviews this past Saturday’s card at New York’s Madison Square Garden and previews this coming Saturday’s middleweight title fight between champion Jermain Taylor and Winky Wright.

We spoke with the still-undefeated WBO 140-pound champion, Miguel Cotto, shortly after he won a 12-round unanimous decision to hand a game but overpowered Paulie Malignaggi his first loss as a pro in the main event at Madison Square Garden. We spoke with rising undefeated middleweight John Duddy, who scored a TKO win at the end of the seventh round over veteran Freddy Cuevas. And we spoke with Notre Dame football star Tommy Zbikowski, who in his pro boxing debut needed only 49 seconds to dispatch Robert Bell, also at the Garden, Sat. night, June 10.

We also spoke with the principals in the biggest fight of this coming weekend. In his first fight since his two victories over Bernard Hopkins, the undefeated middleweight champion of the world, Jermain Taylor, takes on the consensus top challenger in the middleweight division, the crafty veteran Winky Wright. They fight this coming Sat., June 17, at the FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn.
