Dr. Margaret Goodman on Joe Mesi
Dr. Margaret Goodman, neurologist and former Chief Ringside Physician, and Chairman of the Nevada State Athletic Commission Medical Advisory Board, and, a co-founder of the Combat Sports Center for Safety and Research (CSCSR), has written a piece on SecondsOut.com about Joe Mesi’s fight this past Friday night in Montreal, which was telecast in the U.S. on ESPN2’s “Friday Night Fights”. Mesi was in his second fight back after getting an indefinite medical suspension by the Nevada commission for repeated subdural hematomas (bleeding on the brain) thrown out on a legal technicality.
She wrote, “I think it's unfortunate that ESPN’s commentators on site and in the studio failed to mention some very important points.”
The entire piece can be seen here.
