NO HOLDS BARRED: Eddie Goldman Speaks with World Sumo League Wrestlers Sidney Carty, Wayne Vierra, Stilian Georgiev, Ronny Allman, and Hans Borg
The new World Sumo League (WSL) is here. The first leg of their international tour is in North America, with their first shows Memorial Day weekend: Fri., May 26, at The Palace at Auburn Hills, MI, and Sat., May 27, at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL, near Chicago.
Several of the wrestlers were in New York last week to tape commercials for a 26-show series about the WSL which will air in July on Flextech Television in the UK. WSL is also currently seeking a US TV deal, after their pilot show, shot last October in Madison Square Garden, aired on ESPN and ESPN2.
We got a chance to speak with five of the wrestlers – Sidney Carty, Wayne Vierra, Stilian Georgiev, Ronny Allman, and Hans Borg – and that is the subject of this week’s edition of NO HOLDS BARRED.
