“‘Broadway Boxing’ Gets a TV Home of Its Own” on TheSweetScience.com

My latest weekly column on TheSweetScience.com has been posted.

It is titled “‘Broadway Boxing’ Gets a TV Home of Its Own”.

The article discusses the new arrangement between DiBella Entertainment’s “Broadway Boxing” series in New York and the new television network SportsNet New York (SNY), which debuted in March of this year and primarily features New York Mets’ games. Interviewed are both Lou DiBella, president of DiBella Entertainment, and Jon Litner, president of SportsNet New York.

The article goes on to critique HBO’s replay of the April 8 Mayweather-Judah fight for not providing more discussion of that fight’s tenth-round in-ring brawl, as well as the resulting disciplinary hearing held last week by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

And it closes with another blast at Sports Illustrated for poor reporting on boxing by labeling all the recent heavyweight title victors and challengers from Eastern Europe as being “Russians.”
